Ivy League
Since the mid sixties when The Ivy League first had their taste of pop chart success the band has gone from strength to strength. The line up features;-
Jon Brennan (Bass guitar, Vocals); Dave Buckley (Drums, Vocals) and Mike Brice (Guitar, Vocals). The Ivy League’s unique falsetto vocal sound, blended with superb harmonies reproduces their hits: Tossing and Turning, Funny How Love Can Be, and That’s Why I’m Crying.
Added to their repertoire are some old and new favourites; all of which are brought together with some hysterical zany comedy routines.
Jon, Dave and Mike each having over 35 years experience in show business, ensure you can always be guaranteed a high quality professional show. They are constantly updating their act making them popular with both young and old alike; because of this they are asked to return to venues time and time again making them the most worked Comedy band in the United Kingdom.
In these days of tribute acts, The Ivy League is truly a tribute to entertainment. The hits include: Tossing & Turning – Funny How Love Can Be – That’s Why I’m Crying
PJ Laine
PJ as he is known to his fellow entertainers is one of Merseyside’s up and coming talents, rapidly making a name for himself as one of the best Comedy & Vocal Entertainers on the entertainment scene today.
PJ has a great sense of humour and a wonderful voice, he is a great all round entertainer, audience participation is included in his club act to make those feel part of the show, his side splitting humour is clean and topical, sometimes risqué but never blue, nobody is upset when PJ is entertaining.
PJ had the privilege of appearing at the Empire theatre Liverpool alongside such names as; Ricky Tomlinson, American Drifters, Jimmy James & Vagabonds, Three Degrees, Jimmy Cricket, amongst other star names, plus support to Ken Dodd on one of the many charity events PJ often appears at.
PJ is a busy entertainer, you can often hear his singing voice on BBC Radio Merseyside. Listen out for his new CD coming soon.
PJ had pleasure to be invited back to the Empire theatre Liverpool in 2008 to support Ricky Tomlinson once again in a major charity show, again with such names as; Gerry Marsden, Duncan Norvelle, the Grumbleweeds, Roy Walker, Norman Collier, the show was a sell out.
PJ has recently completed a mini theatre tour with the ‘Liverpool Comedians Show’, Mickey Finn, Hal Nolan, Eddie Archer, which was a great success. Plus he has recently hosted the MISS LIVERPOOL event and the MTV reality show with Kerry Kattona in Liverpool.
2011 hopes to be an even better year, watch out for PJ he is a name for the future.
